After over three years of hoping and praying for a recovery for Deftones bass player Chi Cheng, who has been in a coma since a 2008 car accident, Cheng is starting to emerge from an unconscious to partly conscious state. According to the official website for his recovery fund, Cheng is now able to move his leg when asked, and he’s also able to grunt and make other noises as he’s been doing consistently since October of 2011.
This is a significant improvement, although there’s likely still some time to go before Cheng is back to full health. His band mates and family members have lent their time and musical talents to help the musician, setting up a benefit concert and releasing a single to raise money to help finance Cheng’s recovery. But, his recovery will take more time and funding. Hopefully the recent response from Cheng is a good sign he’ll be back to normal sometime soon.
Looking at Cheng’s recovery process, he’s consistently been moving towards an upturn. Seven months after his accident, Cheng was no longer dependent on life support. Two years later, he started to shortly emerge from his coma in brief breaks. Now, Cheng is able to reply to commands more frequently and move and operate his legs. In other words, his recover has been slow, but he’s shown consistent progress over the years. Please hold Cheng and his family in your thoughts and prayers, and hopefully he’ll make a full recovery soon. Fans and friends may keep checking the official site for his recovery fund for updates on Cheng’s progress.
Ça fait du bien des news positives ces temps-ci !

Speaking to Chilean website Latercera.com, the band's frontman Chino Moreno described their new album as "futuristic" and "more dynamic".
Asked about the band's seventh album, Moreno said: "I know everybody says this, but I believe this is the best record we've made. I'm very enthusiastic, because it sounds futuristic in comparison to our last one, so it feels like a step forward. The songs are very different from each other, not heavier or slower, but more dynamic, going towards several directions; it's heavy, but beautiful."
Edit : l'album sortirait en fait en Septembre/Octobre.
